Here is my literary interpretation.
Chirico
“Light bright yellow green…
It’s the most common color
In nature” he said.
But Giorgio, dear, I don’t
Think he meant it quite like that.
One-point perspective plunges
Into the jaundiced horizon.
Pennants snap in the wind
But the men have no need to hold
Their fedoras—business as usual.
The square eerily silent while a train
Whistle blows, puffing virginal
Clouds to join the polluted haze.
Empty doors, empty windows
Art for art’s sake?
